The gender roles in this society are brutally restrictive, especially for women who face harsh consequences for any perceived moral failing. When characters discuss having five daughters as "disappointing," it reveals how deeply embedded these patriarchal values have become in everyday thinking.
Traditional family structures are the only acceptable option, and anyone outside these narrow definitions faces cruelty and rejection. Children born outside wedlock, like Bill, endure lifelong stigma and bullying, being called "ugly names" that mark them as society's rejects.
Marriage represents the only acceptable path for couples, but even love becomes complicated when social limitations force people to hide relationships. The discovery of Sarah in the freezing coal shed demonstrates how society's rejection can literally mean life or death for those who don't conform.
Key moment: Bill's decision to defy the Church despite knowing the consequences shows how love and human dignity can triumph over oppressive social systems, even when the cost is enormous.

I think it’s very much worth it and you’ll end up using it a lot once you get the hang of it and even after looking at others notes you can still ask your Artificial intelligence buddy the question and ask to simplify it if you still don’t get it!!! Knowunity is the BEST app I’ve used in a minute. This is not an ai review or anything this is genuinely coming from a 7th grade student (I know 2011 im young) but dude this app is a 10/10 i have maintained a 3.8 gpa and have plenty of time for gaming. I love it and my mom is just happy I got good grades

Also, it can find study guides that other people have made as well as flashcard sets and practice tests. The free version is also amazing for students who might not be able to afford it.
