Kaj je samostalnik
Predstavljaj si, da moraš opisati svojo sobo. Vse besede, ki jih uporabiš za predmete, so samostalniki! Samostalnik je beseda, s katero poimenujemo bitja (učenec, pes, Ana), stvari (miza, zvezek, telefon) ali pojme (ljubezen, sreča, znanje).
Prepoznaš jih enostavno - vprašaj se Kdo? (za bitja) ali Kaj? (za stvari in pojme). Če dobiš odgovor, imaš samostalnik!
Vsak samostalnik ima tri pomembne lastnosti: spol (moški, ženski, srednji), število (ednina, dvojina, množina) in sklon (kako se samostalnik spreminja v stavku). Te lastnosti se ti zdijo zapletene? Ne skrbi, z vajami postane enostavno!
Pomembno: Samostalnikom se oblika spreminja glede na to, kakšno vlogo imajo v stavku. To se imenuje sklanjanje.
Spol, število in skloni
Spol določiš z besedico "ta" ali "to". Če rečeš "ta zvezek" - moški spol. "Ta miza" - ženski spol. "To okno" - srednji spol. Preprosto, kajne?
Število ti pove, koliko je česa. Ednina je ena stvar, dvojina sta dve, množina so tri ali več. V slovenščini imamo dvojino, kar je kul - večina jezikov je nima!
Sklonov je šest in vsak ima svojo vprašalnico. Najvažnejše je, da se naučiš vprašalnice na pamet: 1. Kdo/kaj? 2. Koga/česa? 3. Komu/čemu? 4. Koga/kaj? 5. O kom/čem? 6. S kom/čim?
Trik: Mestnik (5. sklon) se VEDNO uporablja s predlogom - "o", "na", "v", "pri". Brez predloga ga ni!
Sklanjanje v praksi
Sklanjanje pomeni, da samostalnikom spreminjamo končnice glede na to, kakšno vlogo imajo v stavku. Vsak spol ima svoja pravila - to so sklanjatve.
Za moške samostalnike (kot "korak"): imenovalnik je "korak", rodilnik "koraka", dajalnik "koraku". Ženske (kot "lipa"): "lipa", "lipe", "lipi". Srednje (kot "mesto"): "mesto", "mesta", "mestu".
Tabele so tvoji prijatelji! Ne uči se jih na pamet, ampak jih uporabljaj kot pomoč, dokler ne postane samodejno. Z vajo boš hitro prepoznal vzorce.
Nasvet: Pri moških samostalnikih za nežive stvari sta imenovalnik in tožilnik v ednini enaka. Pri živih bitjih pa ne - "fant" postane "fanta"!
Primeri iz vsakdana
Poglejmo stavek: "Učiteljica je dala učenkama težko nalogo." Beseda "učenkama" - vprašaš se "Komu je dala?" To je dajalnik, končnica "-ama" pa pove, da gre za dvojino.
Pri besedi "nalogo" se vprašaš "Kaj je dala?" To je tožilnik, gre pa za ednino. Vidiš, kako preprosto je, ko znaš vprašalnice?
Če imaš stavek z luknjami, kot "Pogovarjam se s (prijatelj)", postaviš vprašanje "S kom se pogovarjam?" To je orodnik, torej "s prijateljem".
Pozor: Nekateri samostalniki imajo samo množinsko obliko - vrata, hlače, očala. Tudi če so ene hlače, rečemo "hlače so".
Triki za teste
Spol določiš z "ta/to" - to je najhitrejši način. Če se zatakneš, si predstavljaj kazanje s prstom: "ta stol", "ta hiša", "to drevo".
Predlogi ti pomagajo pri prepoznavanju sklonov. Mestnik je vedno s predlogom, orodnik pogosto z "s" ali "z". Če vidiš "o čem", veš, da je mestnik.
Množinski samostalniki te lahko presenetijo na testu. Zapomni si: vrata, hlače, očala, pljuča, možgani - vsi so samo v množini.
Za test je ključno, da znaš vprašalnice na pamet in prepoznaš osnovne končnice. Ne uči se vseh tabel, ampak razumi sistem!
Za test: Najpogosteje te sprašujejo po spolu, številu in sklonu podčrtanih besed. Vedno najprej postavi vprašanje, potem določi lastnosti!
Hiter pregled za ponavljanje

Zdaj imaš osnove! Z vadbo boš kmalu sklanjal samostalnike brez razmišljanja. Najpomembneje je, da razumeš sistem - potem je vse ostalo le vaja.
Spomniti se: Vprašalnice so tvoja glavna orodja. Če jih znaš, lahko rešiš vsako nalogo z samostalniki!
