Uvod v organsko kemijo in biokemijo
Všeč ti je ali ne, ogljik je kralj življenja! Ta posebni element lahko tvori štiri kovalentne vezi, kar pomeni, da lahko sestavi neverjetno dolge verige in obroče. Organska kemija preučuje vse te ogljikove spojine, biokemija pa se osredotoča na kemijske procese v živih organizmih.
Najpreprostejše organske spojine so ogljikovodiki - sestavljeni samo iz ogljika in vodika. Alkani imajo samo enojne vezi (formula CₙH₂ₙ₊₂), alkeni vsaj eno dvojno vez (CₙH₂ₙ), alkini pa vsaj eno trojno vez (CₙH₂ₙ₋₂).
Funkcionalne skupine so tiste, ki določajo, kako se bo molekula obnašala. Hidroksilna skupina naredi alkohole, karboksilna kisline, amino skupina pa baze.
Pomembno: Struktura vedno določa funkcijo - to je zlatno pravilo, ki ga boš potreboval pri vseh makromolekulah!
Ključni pojmi in procesi
Monomeri so majhne gradbene kocke, polimeri pa velike molekule iz ponavljajočih se monomerov. Predstavljaj si jih kot lego kocke in končno zgradbo.
Kondenzacija (dehidracijska sinteza) je proces, kjer se dva monomera povežeta in pri tem "odpadne" molekula vode. Hidroliza je obraten proces - polimer se razcepi ob dodatku vode. Tako tvoje telo prebavlja hrano!
Te procesi so ključni za vse štiri glavne skupine makromolekul: ogljikove hidrate, lipide, beljakovine in nukleinske kisline. Vsaka skupina ima svoje monomere in specifične vezi.
Pomni: Kondenzacija gradi molekule in sprošča vodo, hidroliza pa jih razgrajuje in porabi vodo!
Ogljikovi hidrati - energija življenja
Ogljikovi hidrati so tvoji glavni energetski "goriva". Monosaharidi kot je glukoza (C₆H₁₂O₆) so enostavni sladkorji, ki se v vodi večinoma zvijejo v obroče.
Disaharidi nastanejo iz dveh monosaharidov. Saharoza (namizni sladkor) = glukoza + fruktoza, laktoza (mlečni sladkor) = glukoza + galaktoza, maltoza pa glukoza + glukoza.
Polisaharidi so dolge verige brez sladkega okusa. Škrob shranjuje energijo v rastlinah, glikogen v živalih (tvoje zaloge so v jetrih in mišicah). Celuloza gradi rastlinske celične stene - ti je ne moreš prebaviti, ker nimaš pravega encima, a je pomembna kot vlaknina.
Zanimivost: Škrob, glikogen in celuloza so vsi polimeri glukoze, a različne vezi določajo njihovo funkcijo!
Lipidi - več kot samo maščoba
Lipidi so hidrofobne molekule z več funkcijami: shranjujejo energijo (2x več kot OH!), izolirajo, gradijo membrane in delujejo kot hormoni.
Trigliceridi (prave maščobe) so iz glicerola in treh maščobnih kislin. Nasičene maščobne kisline nimajo dvojnih vezi - verige so ravne, zato so pri sobni temperaturi trde (maslo). Nenasičene imajo dvojne vezi, ki "zlomijo" verigo, zato so tekoče (olja).
Fosfolipidi gradijo celične membrane. So amfipatični - imajo hidrofilno "glavo" in hidrofoben "rep". V vodi spontano tvorijo dvosloj, kar je osnova vseh celičnih membran.
Steroidi imajo štiri spojene obroče. Holesterol je v živalskih membranah in izhodišče za spolne hormone.
Praktično: Razlika med maslom in oljem? Oblika molekul zaradi nasičenosti!
Beljakovine - molekulski delavci
Beljakovine so najbolj raznolika skupina - encimi, struktura, transport, obramba. Vse iz 20 različnih aminokislin (AK)!
Vsaka AK ima centralni ogljik z amino skupino , karboksilno skupino , vodikovim atomom in stransko verigo , ki določa lastnosti. AK se povezujejo s peptidno vezjo.
Strukturne ravni beljakovin:
- Primarna: zaporedje AK (določa gen)
- Sekundarna: lokalno zvijanje v α-vijačnico ali β-ploskev
- Terciarna: celotna 3D oblika (ključna za funkcijo!)
- Kvartarna: več polipeptidnih verig skupaj
Denaturacija uniči 3D strukturo (visoka T°, ekstremni pH) - protein izgubi funkcijo. Primer: pečenje jajca.
Ključno: Sprememba v primarni strukturi lahko popolnoma uniči funkcijo encima!
Nukleinske kisline - knjižnica življenja
Nukleinske kisline shranjujejo, prenašajo in izražajo genetske informacije. Monomeri so nukleotidi iz treh delov: pentoze (5C sladkor), fosfatne skupine in dušikove baze.
Dušikove baze: Purini (2 obroča) - adenin (A), gvanin (G); Piramidini (1 obroč) - citozin (C), timin (T v DNA), uracil (U v RNA).
DNA vs RNA:
- DNA: deoksiriboza, A-T-G-C baze, dvojna vijačnica, shranjuje informacije
- RNA: riboza, A-U-G-C baze, enojna veriga, prenaša/izraža informacije
Komplementarno vezanje: A=T , G≡C v DNA; A=U v RNA.
Pomni: DNA je "glavni disk", RNA pa "delovna kopija" za izdelavo beljakovin!
Praktični primeri in testi
Če bi hotel dokazati makromolekule v jogurtu:
Ogljikovi hidrati: Benedictov test (segrevanje z reagentom) - barva se spremeni iz modre v rdečo pri pozitivnem rezultatu. Jogurt je pozitiven zaradi lakte in fermentacijskih produktov.
Beljakovine: Biuretski test - vijolična barva pri peptidnih vezeh. Jogurt je bogat s kazeinom.
Lipidi: Emulzijski test - motna bela emulzija pri pozitivnem rezultatu. Prisotna je mlečna maščoba.
Saponifikacija (umiljenje) je praktičen primer kemije lipidov: triglicerid + NaOH → glicerol + milo. Milo deluje, ker ima hidrofobno verigo (za maščobo) in hidrofilno glavo (za vodo).
Uporabno: Milo obda maščobne delce in jih "odnese" z vodo!

I think it’s very much worth it and you’ll end up using it a lot once you get the hang of it and even after looking at others notes you can still ask your Artificial intelligence buddy the question and ask to simplify it if you still don’t get it!!! Knowunity is the BEST app I’ve used in a minute. This is not an ai review or anything this is genuinely coming from a 7th grade student (I know 2011 im young) but dude this app is a 10/10 i have maintained a 3.8 gpa and have plenty of time for gaming. I love it and my mom is just happy I got good grades

The app's just great! All I have to do is enter the topic in the search bar and I get the response real fast. I don't have to watch 10 YouTube videos to understand something, so I'm saving my time. Highly recommended!
