Uvod v genetiko in osnovni pojmi
Genetika se ukvarja z dedovanjem lastnosti od staršev na potomce. To področje je temelj za razumevanje biotehnologije, medicine in evolucije.
Gen je osnovna enota dedovanja - to je odsek DNA, ki nosi zapis za določeno beljakovino. Alel pa je različica tega gena (npr. gen za barvo oči ima alel za modro in alel za rjavo barvo).
Genotip predstavlja genetski zapis organizma, torej kombinacijo alelov (npr. AA, Aa, aa). Fenotip so dejanske vidne lastnosti, ki jih vidimo (npr. rjava barva oči, višina rastline).
Pomembno: Vsak posameznik ima za vsak gen dva alela - enega od očeta in enega od matere!
Homozigot ima dva enaka alela (AA ali aa), heterozigot pa dva različna (Aa). Dominanten alel (A) se izrazi tudi, če je prisoten samo en, recesiven alel (a) pa se izrazi le, če sta prisotna oba.
Mendlovi zakoni dedovanja
Gregor Mendel je s poskusi z grahom postavil tri temeljne zakone genetike, ki jih moraš obvladati za maturo.
Prvi zakon (uniformnost): Ko križamo dva čistokrvna starša, so vsi potomci F1 generacije med seboj enaki. Primer: visok grah (VV) × nizek grah (vv) → vsi potomci so visoki (Vv).
Drugi zakon (segregacija): Pri križanju potomcev F1 med seboj se aleli ločijo. V F2 generaciji dobimo razmerje fenotipov 3:1 (3 dominantni : 1 recesivni) in razmerje genotipov 1:2:1.
Tretji zakon (neodvisno razvrščanje): Aleli za različne lastnosti se dedujejo neodvisno, če ležijo na različnih kromosomih. Pri dihibridnem križanju (Vv × Vv) dobimo fenotipsko razmerje 9:3:3:1.
Za maturo: Zapomniti si moraš številčna razmerja - 3:1 za monohibridno in 9:3:3:1 za dihibridno križanje!
Genska ekspresija: Od gena do beljakovine
Genska ekspresija je proces, kako se informacija iz gena pretvori v funkcionalno beljakovino. To je centralna dogma molekularne biologije: DNA → mRNA → beljakovina.
Transkripcija poteka v jedru celice. Encim RNA-polimeraza prepiše del DNA v molekulo mRNA. Namesto timina (T) se v RNA vgradi uracil (U).
Translacija poteka v citoplazmi na ribosomih. Zaporedje baz na mRNA se prevede v zaporedje aminokislin. Vsak kodon (tri baze) določi eno aminokislino.
Ključno razumevanje: Ta proces omogoča, da genetska informacija postane delujoča beljakovina, ki opravljajo vse življenjske funkcije!
tRNA (prenašalna RNA) prinaša ustrezne aminokisline do ribosoma, kjer se spojijo v beljakovinsko verigo. Tako nastane funkcionalna beljakovina.
Mutacije in njihove posledice
Mutacije so trajne spremembe v DNA, ki predstavljajo vir genetske variabilnosti. Lahko so koristne, škodljive ali nevtralne.
Genske mutacije vplivajo na posamezen gen. Substitucija (zamenjava baze) je lahko tiha, če ne spremeni aminokisline, ali pa povzroči drugačno beljakovino. Insercija ali delecija sta običajno hujši, ker povzročita premik bralnega okvira.
Kromosomske mutacije vplivajo na celotne kromosome. Številske mutacije pomenijo napačno število kromosomov (npr. Downov sindrom s trisomijo 21). Strukturne mutacije spreminjajo zgradbo kromosoma.
Praktični nasvet: Insercije in delecije so običajno hujše od substitucij, ker spremenijo cel bralni okvir!
Vzroki mutacij so lahko spontani (napake pri podvojevanju) ali inducirani (UV sevanje, rentgenski žarki, kemikalije). Mutacije so osnova za evolucijo in genetsko raznolikost.
Genski inženiring in biotehnologija
Genski inženiring omogoča namerno spreminjanje genetskega materiala organizmov. To je revolucioniralo medicino in kmetijstvo.
Osnovna orodja so restrikcijski encimi (molekularne škarje), ki režejo DNA na določenih mestih, DNA ligaza (molekularno lepilo) in vektorji za prenašanje genov (pogosto plazmidi).
Primer proizvodnje inzulina: Človeškov gen za inzulin vstavimo v bakterijski plazmid, ga vnesemo v bakterijo E. coli, ki nato proizvaja človeški inzulin. Ta je varnejši od živalskega inzulina.
Etična dilema: GSO ponujajo koristi (večji pridelki, zdravila), a vzbujajo skrbi glede varnosti in okoljskih vplivov.
Etične implikacije vključujejo vprašanja o GSO v prehrani, genski terapiji, možnosti "oblikovanja" otrok in zasebnosti genetskih podatkov. Te teme so pogoste na esejskih vprašanjih mature.
Reševanje križanj s Punnetovimi kvadrati
Punnettovi kvadrati so osnovno orodje za napovedovanje izidov genetskih križanj. Obvladati jih moraš za praktične naloge na maturi.
Monohibridno križanje: Križanje Rr × rr (rdeč × rumen paradižnik). Starš Rr tvori gamete R in r, starš rr samo r. Rezultat: 50% Rr (rdeči), 50% rr (rumeni) - razmerje 1:1.
Dihibridno križanje: Križanje RrYy × RrYy . Vsak starš tvori štiri vrste gamet: RY, Ry, rY, ry. Narišeš kvadrat 4×4.
Končno razmerje fenotipov je 9:3:3:1 - 9 okroglih rumenih : 3 okrogli zeleni : 3 nagubani rumeni : 1 naguban zelen. To razmerje si obvezno zapomni!
Nasvet za maturo: Vedno najprej določi, kateri alel je dominanten, nato pa skrbno nariši vse možne gamete!
Pri reševanju vedno preveri svoje rezultate - seštevek vseh možnosti mora biti 100% ali celota vseh potomcev.
Izjeme in pomembni povzetki za maturo
Ne vsi geni se vedejo po Mendlovih zakonih. Nepopolna dominanca pomeni, da heterozigot kaže vmesni fenotip . Kodominanca pomeni, da se oba alela izrazita v polni meri (krvna skupina AB).
Vezani geni ležijo na istem kromosomu in se dedujejo skupaj, ne po tretjem Mendlovem zakonu. To je pomembna izjema, ki jo lahko srečaš na maturi.

This app is phenomenal down to the correct info and the various topics you can study! I greatly recommend it for people who struggle with procrastination and those who need homework help. It has been perfectly accurate for world 1 history as far as I’ve seen! Geometry too!

Wow, I am really amazed. I just tried the app because I've seen it advertised many times and was absolutely stunned. This app is THE HELP you want for school and above all, it offers so many things, such as workouts and fact sheets, which have been VERY helpful to me personally.

I think it’s very much worth it and you’ll end up using it a lot once you get the hang of it and even after looking at others notes you can still ask your Artificial intelligence buddy the question and ask to simplify it if you still don’t get it!!! Knowunity is the BEST app I’ve used in a minute. This is not an ai review or anything this is genuinely coming from a 7th grade student (I know 2011 im young) but dude this app is a 10/10 i have maintained a 3.8 gpa and have plenty of time for gaming. I love it and my mom is just happy I got good grades

The app's just great! All I have to do is enter the topic in the search bar and I get the response real fast. I don't have to watch 10 YouTube videos to understand something, so I'm saving my time. Highly recommended!

I found this app a couple years ago and it has only gotten better since then. I really love it because it can help with written questions and photo questions. Also, it can find study guides that other people have made as well as flashcard sets and practice tests. The free version is also amazing for students who might not be able to afford it. Would 100% recommend
