Podstawy średniowiecza
Czasami myślisz, że średniowiecze to tylko zamki i rycerze? To znacznie więcej! Nazwa pochodzi z łaciny - medium aevum, czyli "wieki średnie". Historycy początkowo myśleli, że to tylko przejście między antykiem a renesansem.
Społeczeństwo było zhierarchizowane - każdy miał swoje miejsce. Na górze władca, potem rycerze i duchowni, na dole chłopi. Pod koniec epoki pojawiło się też mieszczaństwo.
💡 Ważne daty: W Polsce średniowiecze trwało od chrztu Polski (966 r.) do przełomu XV i XVI wieku.
Wzorami były trzy postacie: święty (żył w ubóstwie dla Boga), doskonały rycerz (walczył za wiarę i króla) oraz mądry władca (rządził sprawiedliwie jako namiestnik Boga na ziemi).
Światopogląd średniowieczny
W średniowieczu wszystko kręciło się wokół Boga - nazywamy to teocentryzmem. Bóg był centrum nauki, sztuki i codziennego życia.
Ludzie wierzyli w hierarchiczność - że wszystko ma swój porządek. Święty Tomasz stworzył "drabinę bytów" - od Boga na górze, przez aniołów, ludzi, aż do zwierząt. W nauce teologia była królową, a potem trivium (gramatyka, retoryka, dialektyka) i quadrivium (arytmetyka, geometria, astronomia, muzyka).
Uniwersalizm oznaczał, że cała Europa była podobna - wspólna łacina, wiara chrześcijańska i system feudalny. Filozofia też się rozwijała - augustynizm mówił o duszy uwięzionej w ciele, tomizm o człowieku między aniołami a zwierzętami, a franciszkanizm o radosnej miłości do całego stworzenia.

Ważne pojęcia i motywy
Średniowieczni ludzie bardzo często myśleli o śmierci - nie dlatego, że byli smutni, ale żeby pamiętać, co naprawdę ważne! Memento mori ("pamiętaj o śmierci") przypominało o przemijaniu.
Alegoria to sposób mówienia o jednej rzeczy przez drugą - lis zawsze oznaczał chytrość, mrówka pracowitość. Vanitas (marność) pokazywało, że ziemskie sprawy są nieważne w porównaniu z wiecznością.
Popularne były motywy literackie: ubi sunt ("gdzie są") - pytania o zmarłych władców, stabat mater dolorosa - cierpiąca matka pod krzyżem, deesis - Jezus, Maryja i Jan Chrzciciel razem.
💡 Ciekawostka: Danse macabre (taniec śmierci) pokazywał, że śmierć nie wybiera - wszyscy, od króla po chłopa, tańczą z kościotrupem!

This app is phenomenal down to the correct info and the various topics you can study! I greatly recommend it for people who struggle with procrastination and those who need homework help. It has been perfectly accurate for world 1 history as far as I’ve seen! Geometry too!
