Global Distribution and Formation of Volcanoes
Ever wondered why some places have loads of volcanoes while others have none? It's all down to plate tectonics - the movement of Earth's massive crustal plates that determines exactly where volcanoes pop up.
Most volcanoes cluster around three key locations: convergent boundaries (where plates crash together), divergent boundaries (where plates pull apart), and mysterious hotspots that seem to ignore plate boundaries entirely.
