Gradnetz, Zeitzonen und Beleuchtungszonen verständlich erklärt
Das Gradnetz der Erde
Stell dir vor, die Erde wäre von einem riesigen Netz überzogen - genau das ist das Gradnetz! Es besteht aus zwei verschiedenen Linienarten, die sich überall auf der Welt kreuzen.
Breitenkreise sind wie Ringe um die Erde gelegt. Sie verlaufen alle parallel zueinander, haben aber unterschiedliche Längen. Der Äquator ist der längste mit 40.000 km und teilt unseren Planeten in Nord- und Südhalbkugel. Von dort aus zählst du jeweils 90 Breitenkreise nach Norden und Süden.
Längenkreise (auch Meridiane genannt) sind dagegen alle gleich lang und führen über beide Pole. Der Nullmeridian ist der Startpunkt - von ihm aus gibt es jeweils 180 Meridiane nach Osten und Westen. Dort, wo der 180. Längengrad ist, verläuft die Datumsgrenze.
Merktipp: Breitenkreise sind wie Gürtel (unterschiedlich breit), Längenkreise wie Orangenscheiben (alle gleich groß)!
Die Beleuchtungszonen entstehen, weil die Erdachse um 23,5° geneigt ist. Dadurch treffen die Sonnenstrahlen verschiedene Bereiche unterschiedlich stark: In den Tropen scheint die Sonne fast senkrecht, in den Polarzonen nur flach oder gar nicht. Die Mittelbreiten liegen dazwischen und haben deutliche Jahreszeiten.
Zeitzonen verstehen
Du kennst das sicher: Wenn du Verwandte in einem anderen Land anrufst, ist dort eine ganz andere Tageszeit! Das liegt daran, dass sich die Erde um sich selbst dreht - diese Rotation sorgt für Tag und Nacht.
Die Entstehung von Zeitzonen ist eigentlich ganz logisch: Da die Sonne immer nur eine Seite der Erde bescheint, haben Orte auf verschiedenen Längengraden unterschiedliche Ortszeiten. Ohne Zeitzonen hätte jede Stadt ihre eigene Zeit - das wäre total chaotic!
Deshalb wurde die Erde in 24 Zeitzonen aufgeteilt. Alle 15 Längengrade (360° ÷ 24 = 15°) gibt es eine neue Zeitzone mit einer Stunde Unterschied. Die Grenzen werden oft an Staatsgrenzen angepasst, damit nicht mitten durch ein Land verschiedene Zeiten gelten.
Eselsbrücke: 15° = 1 Stunde Zeitunterschied. Im Osten ist es früher, im Westen später!
An der Datumsgrenze bei 180° Längengrad wechselt sogar das Datum. Wenn du diese Linie überquerst, springst du einen ganzen Tag vor oder zurück - ziemlich verrückt, oder?

I think it’s very much worth it and you’ll end up using it a lot once you get the hang of it and even after looking at others notes you can still ask your Artificial intelligence buddy the question and ask to simplify it if you still don’t get it!!!
