Africký kontinent – Sahara, Kilimandžáro a rieky ako Níl

Základné typy krajín Afriky
Predstav si, že by si mohol cestovať po celej Afrike - stretol by si tri úplne odlišné svety. Púšte sú miesta, kde skoro nikdy neprší a všetko je piesočnaté alebo kamenisté. Savany vyzerajú ako obrovské trávnaté pláne s roztrúsenými stromami, kde žijú slony a levy. Dažďové pralesy sú ako zelené tunely plné exotických zvierat, kde prší skoro každý deň.
Najdôležitejšie je pochopiť, že tieto krajiny vznikajú kvôli tomu, koľko tam prší a aké je teplo. Oázy sú ako malé zelené ostrovy uprostred púšte, kde je voda. Rovník je neviditeľná čiara okolo stredu Zeme, kde je najteplejšie.
Kilimandžáro je najvyššia hora Afriky a Níl najdlhšia rieka. Tieto miesta sú tak známe, že o nich počuješ aj v filmoch!
Tip: Zapamätaj si jednoduchú rovnicu: veľa tepla + veľa dažďa = prales, veľa tepla + málo dažďa = púšť!
Púšte - kde je všetko piesok a horúčava
Sahara je najväčšia horúca púšť na svete - je dokonca väčšia ako celá Európa! Cez deň tam môže byť až 50°C, ale v noci aj mínusové teploty. Znie to šialene, nie?
V púšti prší len veľmi zriedka, preto tam rastú len rastliny ako kaktusy, ktoré si vedia uschovať vodu. Zvieratá ako ťavy a škorpióny sa naučili prežiť bez veľa vody. Ľudia žijú hlavne okolo oáz, kde nájdu vodu a môžu pestovať datle.
Rieka Níl preteká cez Saharu a je životne dôležitá - bez nej by staroveký Egypt vôbec nemohol existovať. Predstav si, že by si žil vedľa jedinej rieky v obrovskej púšti!
Na juhu Afriky sú aj púšte Kalahari a Namib, ktoré sú trochu odlišné od Sahary.
Zaujímavosť: V Sahare sa môžu tvoriť pieskové duny vysoké ako naše bytovky!
Savany - domov najväčších zvierat planéty
Keď vidíš v dokumentoch levy, žirafy alebo zebry, väčšinou sa nachádzajú práve v savanách. Tieto obrovské trávnaté pláne majú jedno suché a jedno dažďové obdobie. Počas dažďov je všetko krásne zelené, počas sucha trávy vyschnú a zmenia farbu na žltú.
Tu rastú aj tie typické africké stromy ako baobaby (tie s obrovským kmeňom) a akácie. Zvieratá sa často pohybujú vo veľkých stádach a putoujú za vodou a potravou.
Mnohé savany sú dnes chránené ako národné parky, napríklad slávne Serengeti v Tanzánii. Tam môžu turisti ísť na safari a pozorovať zvieratá v ich prirodzenom prostredí.
Savany nájdeš hlavne vo východnej a strednej Afrike, okolo púští a smerom k rovníku.
Vedel si? Vo veľkých stádach zvierat v savanách môže byť aj milión antilôp naraz!
Dažďové pralesy - zelené pľúca planéty
Dažďové pralesy sú ako obrovské zelené katedrály, kde je tak husto, že na zem preniká len málo svetla. Nachádzajú sa hlavne okolo rovníka v strednej Afrike a sú domovom pre neuveriteľné množstvo zvierat - gorily, šimpanzy, opice, papagáje a tisíce druhov hmyzu.
Tu je teplo a vlhko počas celého roka a prší skoro každý deň. Stromy rastú do obrovských výšok a tvoria niekoľko "poschodí" - mnohé zvieratá žijú len vysoko v korunách a nikdy nezídu na zem.
Pralesy sa často nazývajú "pľúca Zeme", pretože produkujú veľa kyslíka, ktorý potrebujeme na dýchanie. Bohužiaľ, ľudia ich rúbu kvôli drevu a pôde, čo je veľký problém.
Najväčšie pralesné oblasti sú v Konžskej panve a na západnom pobreží Afriky.
Problém: Každý rok zmizne časť pralesov veľká ako celé Slovensko!
Významné miesta, ktoré musíš poznať
Kilimandžáro je najvyššia hora Afriky s takmer 5900 metrami. Je to neaktívna sopka v Tanzánii a hoci je blízko rovníka, na vrchole má sneh a ľad! To je perfektný príklad toho, aké kontrasty Afrika ponúka.
Rieka Níl je najdlhšia rieka Afriky a preteká cez severovýchodnú časť kontinentu. Bez nej by Egypt bol len púšťou - vďaka nej tam môžu žiť milióny ľudí. Ďalšie dôležité rieky sú Kongo (v pralesoch) a Niger (v západnej Afrike).
Dôležité je zapamätať si, že tieto krajiny sa menia podľa vzdialenosti od rovníka: pri rovníku sú pralesy, ďalej savany a najďalej púšte. Je to ako prírodný gradient!
Každý typ krajiny ovplyvňuje život ľudí aj zvierat úplne inak - v púšti sa žije úplne inak ako v pralesoch.
Zapamätaj si: Afrika = kontinent kontrastov - sneh na hore pri rovníku, zelené oázy v púšti!
