Šta su gerund i infinitiv?
Zamišljaj gerund kao glagol koji se pretvorio u imenicu - uvek se završava na -ing (čitanje, plivanje, gledanje). Može biti subjekat rečenice kao što je "Swimming is my favorite sport" (Plivanje je moj omiljeni sport).
Infinitiv je osnovni oblik glagola sa "to" ispred njega (to read, to play, to watch). Koristiš ga kada želiš da izraziš nameru ili posle određenih glagola.
Pazi da ne pomešaš gerund sa Present Continuous vremenom! U "I am reading a book" glagol sa -ing je deo predikata, dok u "Reading is fun" gerund se ponaša kao imenica.
Zapamti: Gerund = glagol koji se ponaša kao imenica, Infinitiv = "to" + glagol
Kada koristiš gerund
Gerund koristiš kao subjekat rečenice kada je radnja glavna tema: "Learning English is important" ili "Playing video games all day is not healthy".
Uvek posle predloga (in, on, at, about, for, from) ide gerund - bez izuzetka! "I am good at solving math problems" ili "Thank you for helping me". Ovo je najlakše pravilo za zapamćivanje.
Određeni glagoli jednostavno zahtevaju gerund posle sebe. Najvažniji su: enjoy (I enjoy listening to music), finish (Have you finished doing homework?), avoid, mind, suggest i keep. Ovu listu moraš napamet!
Pro tip: Vidiš predlog? Automatski stavi gerund posle njega!
Kada koristiš infinitiv
Infinitiv ide posle određenih glagola kao što su want (I want to travel), decide (We decided to study), hope, need, plan i promise. Ova lista je takođe za učenje napamet.
Posle prideva uvek ide infinitiv: "It's nice to meet you", "I'm happy to be here" ili "This lesson is easy to understand". Kada opisuješ osećanje u vezi sa nekom radnjom, infinitiv je tvoj izbor.
Koristiš infinitiv da izraziš nameru ili svrhu - kada odgovaraš na pitanje "Zašto?". "I went to the library to borrow a book" ili "He is saving money to buy a new phone".
Prakticno: Infinitiv = namera, cilj ili posle određenih glagola i prideva
Glagoli koji menjaju značenje
Neki glagoli mogu imati i gerund i infinitiv posle sebe, ali pazi - značenje se potpuno menja!
Stop + gerund znači prestati zauvek: "He stopped smoking" (prestao je da puši). Stop + infinitiv znači stati da bi uradio nešto: "He stopped to smoke" (stao je da zapali).
Remember + gerund je sećanje prošlosti: "I remember meeting her" (sećam se da sam je upoznao). Remember + infinitiv je obaveza: "Remember to buy milk" (seti se da kupiš mleko).
Try + gerund je eksperiment: "Try adding more salt" (probaj da dodaš so). Try + infinitiv je napor: "I tried to lift the box" (pokušao sam da podignem kutiju).
Pažnja: Ovi glagoli su omiljeni na testovima - nauči razlike!
Brza strategija za testove
Kad vidiš zadatak, prvo identifikuj šta je pre praznine. Ako je predlog - gerund bez razmišljanja! Ako je glagol, proveri da li je na listi onih koji zahtevaju gerund ili infinitiv.
Gerund koristiš: kao subjekat rečenice, posle predloga i posle glagola enjoy, finish, avoid, mind, suggest, keep. Infinitiv koristiš: posle glagola want, decide, hope, need, plan, promise, posle prideva i za izražavanje namere.
Najčešća greška je stavljanje infinitiva posle predloga. Zapamti: "I'm interested in learning" (NE "to learn")!
Napravi kartice sa glagolima i vežbaj svaki dan - posle nedelju dana će ti ovo postati automatski!

I think it’s very much worth it and you’ll end up using it a lot once you get the hang of it and even after looking at others notes you can still ask your Artificial intelligence buddy the question and ask to simplify it if you still don’t get it!!! This is not an ai review or anything this is genuinely coming from a 7th grade student (I know 2011 im young) but dude this app is a 10/10 i have maintained a 3.8 gpa and have plenty of time for gaming.
