Jak začala třicetiletá válka
Víš, že celá tahle válečná katastrofa začala právě tady u nás? Po augšpurském náboženském míru z roku 1555 se zdálo, že je klid, ale opak byl pravdou.
Evropa se rozdělila na dva nepřátelské tábory - katolickou ligu (v čele s císařem) a protestantskou unii. Nikdo nechtěl ustoupit a napětí gradovalo.
Na začátku 17. století bylo jasné, že se něco musí stát. Obě strany se připravovaly na velký střet, který měl rozhodnout o budoucnosti náboženství v Evropě.
Tip: Zapamatuj si, že náboženské rozdělení bylo hlavní příčinou konfliktu - bez tohoto napětí by k válce vůbec nedošlo.
Pražská defenestrace - když se všechno spustilo
- května 1618 se stala událost, která změnila evropské dějiny. Čeští protestantští šlechtici vyhodili z oken Pražského hradu císařské místodržící - tomuhle říkáme pražská defenestrace.
Důvod? Český král se pokusil omezit svobodné vyznávání víry protestantů. To šlechtu tak naštvalo, že asi 200 z nich vtrhlo na hrad a tři úředníky prostě vyhodilo z okna (naštěstí přežili).
V roce 1619 se pak konflikt rozjel naplno. Čeští protestanti sesadili krále Ferdinanda a zvolili si vlastního - protestantského Fridricha V. Falckého. Ferdinand ale mezitím stal císařem a rozhodl se nám to pořádně oplatit.
Důležité: Pražská defenestrace je oficiální začátek třicetileté války - tuhle událost si určitě zapamatuj!
Jak se z českého sporu stal evropský masakr
Po porážce českých stavů Ferdinand II. začal tvrdě prosazovat protireformaci. To rozčílilo protestantské knížata na severu Německa a válka se rozšířila.
Postupně se do boje zapojily další mocnosti. V roce 1625 přišel pomoct protestantům dánský král Kristián IV., Anglie s Nizozemskem posílaly peníze na žoldnéře.
Největší zvrat přišel v roce 1630, kdy vstoupil do války švédský král Gustav II. Adolf. Švédové zpočátku válčili skvěle, ale Gustav Adolf padl v bitvě u Lützenu. Pak se stala úplně šílená věc - katolická Francie se přidala k protestantům, jen aby oslabila mocné Habsburky!
Zajímavost: Francie bojovala proti katolickému císaři, i když sama byla katolická země - šlo už jen o moc, ne o náboženství.
Utrpení lidí a konec války
Nejhorší na celé válce bylo, co se dělo obyčejným lidem. Žoldnéři táhli po krajině, rabovali a drancovali, protože se museli nějak uživit.
Lidé museli platit obrovské válečné daně, odevzdávat jídlo a dobytek vojákům, ubytovávat je doma a ještě jim pomáhat s výrobou zbraní. Kdo odmítl, čelil násilí. Nejhorší byli "ztracení" vojáci bez jednotek, kteří jen vraždili a kradli.
Konečně v roce 1648 byl uzavřen vestfálský mír v Münsteru a Osnabrücku. Jednání trvala celých 7 let - představ si, jak složité bylo dohodnout se po takovém masakru!
Šokující čísla: Německá populace klesla z 16 milionů na pouhých 10 milionů obyvatel - zemřela tedy skoro polovina lidí!
Co válka změnila navždy
Třicetiletá válka nebyla jen další konflikt - změnila celou Evropu. Vestfálský mír ukončil éru náboženských válek a zavedl princip suverenity států, který funguje dodnes.
Německé země byly totálně zničené - obchod, řemesla, celé hospodářství leželo v troskách. Přeživší lidé zažili skutečnou noční můru drancování, obléhání a epidemií moru.
Vestfálský mír položil základy moderního mezinárodního systému. Od té doby už se státy nevedly války primárně kvůli náboženství, ale kvůli politice a ekonomii.
Historický význam: Tahle válka ukončila středověk a začal se formovat moderní svět - její dopady cítíme vlastně dodnes.

I think it’s very much worth it and you’ll end up using it a lot once you get the hang of it and even after looking at others notes you can still ask your Artificial intelligence buddy the question and ask to simplify it if you still don’t get it!!!
