Der Autor und die Handlung
Uwe Timm wurde 1940 in Hamburg geboren und schreibt oft über die Zeit nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg. Seine Novelle "Die Entdeckung der Currywurst" verbindet geschickt deutsche Geschichte mit einer persönlichen Liebesgeschichte.
Die Geschichte spielt in den letzten Kriegstagen im Mai 1945 in Hamburg. Lena Brücker versteckt den Deserteur Hermann Bremer in ihrer Wohnung, nachdem sie ihm zufällig begegnet ist.
Als Lena erfährt, dass Hitler tot ist und Hamburg kampflos übergeben werden soll, trifft sie eine folgenschwere Entscheidung. Sie verschweigt Bremer das Kriegsende, weil sie Angst hat, ihn zu verlieren - schließlich hätte er dann keinen Grund mehr zu bleiben.
Tipp: Achte darauf, wie Timm zeigt, dass Menschen in extremen Situationen manchmal unmoralische Entscheidungen treffen - aus Liebe oder Angst.
Die dramatische Wendung
Bremers Verhalten wird immer angespannter, weil er keine aktuellen Informationen bekommt. Er verliert sogar seinen Geschmackssinn und wird misstrauisch gegenüber Lena.
Der Höhepunkt kommt, als Lena Fotos aus den befreiten Konzentrationslagern in der Zeitung sieht. Die schrecklichen Bilder erschüttern sie so sehr, dass sie Bremer endlich die Wahrheit sagt - der Krieg ist längst vorbei.
Bremer reagiert geschockt und verlässt Lena sofort. Ihre gemeinsame Zeit endet abrupt und schmerzhaft für beide.
Als Lenas Mann 1946 aus dem Krieg zurückkommt, wirft sie ihn raus. Sie muss nun allein für ihre Familie sorgen und eröffnet deshalb eine Wurstbude am Großneumarkt.
Merke dir: Die Lüge, die aus Liebe entstand, zerstört am Ende genau das, was sie bewahren sollte.
Die Geburt der Currywurst
Hier wird die Geschichte richtig spannend! Durch einen glücklichen Zufall entsteht das berühmte Gericht. Als Lena Waren für ihre Bude nach Hause trägt, stolpert sie und verschüttet Currypulver mit zerbrochenen Ketchup-Flaschen.
Neugierig leckt sie die Mischung ab - und ist begeistert vom Geschmack! Den ganzen Abend experimentiert sie weiter, bis die perfekte Curry-Ketchup-Mischung für ihre Würste entsteht.
Die Currywurst wird an ihrem Imbiss sofort zum Riesenerfolg. Eines Tages steht sogar Hermann Bremer an ihrem Stand - beide erkennen sich, tun aber so, als wären sie Fremde.
Jahre später stirbt Lena Brücker, hinterlässt dem Erzähler aber ein Päckchen mit einem gestrickten Pullover und dem Original-Rezept für die Currywurst.
Das Besondere: Timm zeigt, wie aus persönlichen Schicksalen manchmal Dinge entstehen, die ganze Generationen prägen - wie unser Lieblings-Fast-Food!

I think it’s very much worth it and you’ll end up using it a lot once you get the hang of it and even after looking at others notes you can still ask your Artificial intelligence buddy the question and ask to simplify it if you still don’t get it!!!
