免疫の基本概念
体に侵入してくる病原体やがん細胞を見つけて排除する、それが免疫だ。この仕組みの凄いところは、「自分（自己）」と「敵（非自己）」をきちんと見分けられること。
抗原は免疫反応のスイッチを入れる物質のこと。ウイルスや細菌が持つ「敵の目印」だと思えばいい。一方、抗体はその抗原にピタッとくっついて無力化するタンパク質だ。
食作用も重要な防御メカニズム。マクロファージや好中球といった食細胞が、敵をパクパク食べて分解してくれる。まるで体内のお掃除屋さんみたいな存在だね。
ここがポイント！ 免疫は「自己vs非自己」の戦い。この区別ができるから、体は正常な細胞を攻撃せずに敵だけを狙い撃ちできるんだ。
自然免疫：最初の防衛ライン
自然免疫は生まれつき備わった防御システム。特定の敵を選ばず、とにかく素早く反応するのが特徴だ。
皮膚や粘膜が物理的にバリアを作り、涙や胃酸が化学的に敵を撃退する。でも一番活躍するのはマクロファージや好中球といった食細胞たちだ。
体内に侵入者を発見すると、これらの食細胞が食作用で敵を丸呑みして分解する。反応は非特異的で、どんな敵にも同じように対応するのが自然免疫の特徴だね。
覚えておこう！ 自然免疫は「速攻型」の防御。でも敵を記憶することはできないから、何度同じ敵が来ても毎回同じレベルの反応しかできない。
獲得免疫：学習する防御システム
獲得免疫は一度戦った敵を覚えていて、次に同じ敵が来たときはもっと強く反撃できる賢いシステム。T細胞とB細胞というリンパ球が主役だ。
体液性免疫では、B細胞が形質細胞に変身して抗体を大量生産する。この抗体が血液中やリンパ液中で敵を見つけて無力化してくれる。抗原抗体反応が起こると、敵は動けなくなったり食べられやすくなったりするんだ。
細胞性免疫はキラーT細胞が主役。ウイルスに感染した細胞やがん細胞を直接攻撃して破壊する。まさに体内の特殊部隊だね。
両方の免疫で重要なのがヘルパーT細胞。司令塔として他の細胞に指令を出す超重要な存在で、これがないと免疫システムは機能しない。
テスト頻出！ ヘルパーT細胞は体液性免疫と細胞性免疫の両方に関わる司令塔。この役割は絶対に覚えておこう。
免疫の異常と応用
アレルギーは免疫の暴走だ。本来無害な花粉や食べ物に対して免疫が過剰反応してしまう。アレルゲンに対してIgE抗体が作られ、マスト細胞からヒスタミンが放出されることでくしゃみや鼻水が起こるんだ。
自己免疫疾患はもっと深刻で、免疫が自分の正常な細胞を間違って攻撃してしまう病気。関節リウマチなんかがその例だね。
一方、ワクチンは免疫記憶の仕組みを上手く利用した予防法だ。無毒化した病原体をあらかじめ体に入れることで記憶細胞を作っておく。本物の病原体が侵入したときに二次応答が起こり、速攻で撃退できるようになるわけだ。
日常とのつながり！ インフルエンザの予防接種も同じ原理。一度ワクチンを打つと、体が敵を記憶してくれるから重症化を防げるんだ。
試験対策のコツ
自然免疫vs獲得免疫の違いは表で整理しよう。反応速度、特異性、免疫記憶の有無がポイントだ。自然免疫は速いけど記憶なし、獲得免疫は最初は遅いけど記憶ありって覚えておけばOK。

記述問題では「B細胞が抗体を作る」じゃなくて「B細胞から分化した形質細胞が抗体を作る」という正確な表現が求められることもあるから注意だ。
