For the oven, a medium-term loan or hire purchase would spread the cost over the oven's useful life.

The Golden Rule of Finance: Always match the term of the finance to the life of the asset or length of the need. Short-term need → Short-term finance. Long-term need → Long-term finance.

When seeking finance, remember that loans mean taking on debt that must be repaid with interest—an additional business expense. Selling shares brings in cash without repayment obligations, but you'll give up some ownership and control of your business.
